Ice Ice Baby! The Salomon ACS Pro Advanced is Here In 'Vanilla Ice'

Salomon ACS Pro Advanced 'Vanilla Ice'
Salomon ACS Pro Advanced 'Vanilla Ice'

Salomon's ACS Pro Advanced is one of the hottest shoes of 2022. An upgraded version of the GCS Pro – a trail runner from the early 2000s – that's been modernised with a stability-improving Agile Chassis System, hence the ACS in the name, the ACS Pro Advanced has used the hype generated by other Salomon models like the XT-4 and XT-6 to springboard itself into the discussion of the year's most popular kicks. It's only appeared in a handful of colour palettes, some subtle and some more boisterous, but this (unintentionally) hilariously named 'Vanilla Ice' pair is one of the coldest we've seen yet!

Sadly, Rob Van Winkle didn't have anything to do with this ACS Pro Advanced's creation. Interestingly enough, who did was adidas: the Three Stripes owned Salomon from 1997 to 2005, and the plastic cage with see-through mesh on the midfoot borrows from adidas' ClimaCool technology. Apart from the midfoot, the 'Vanilla Ice' features a beautiful blend of cream and white mesh and synthetic pieces, with some metallic silver detailing thrown in for contrast. A speed lacing system, doubled-up heel tabs and durable grey Contagrip outsoles round off the look.

The Salomon webstore and retailers like KITH have already sold out of their stock of the ACS Pro Advanced 'Vanilla Ice,' but Asphalt Gold has pairs available via raffle – which will open on March 13. Expect to pay $230 if you'd like to add a pair to your collection.
