Salehe Bembury Teases Latest New Balance Colab
American footwear designer Salehe Bembury continues to produce stunning sneaker renditions with New Balance, the Versace alumni recently releasing the New Balance 2002R ‘Water be the Guide’ and Test Run Project 3.0 ‘Finders Keepers’ to much acclaim.
We’ve now got a glimpse at his fourth New Balance collaboration, Salehe sharing a more muted New Balance rendition on his Instagram Stories. While we’ve only got a snapshot of the upcoming collaboration, the grey and white hues pay homage to New Balance’s heritage composition.
The most salient design aspect is undoubtedly the ‘yurt’ text emblazoning the tongue, the word referring to portable, round tents used by nomadic groups across central Asia. It’s safe to assume, then, that Salehe’s latest New Balance collaboration will follow a similar outdoor-inspired theme to his recent NB work.
There’s currently no information regarding a specific New Balance model or pricing, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
In the meantime, check out our interview with the head of New Balance collaborations, ,Joe Grondin.
