A Rick and Morty Colab Headlines PUMA's February MB.01 Release Lineup
is budding into a superstar in his sophomore season, garnering attention for his and ensuring his Charlotte Hornets are in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff picture. As the youngest Ball brother expands his game and scope of influence, his signature sneaker – the – is growing as well with three new colourways dropping in February: a colab, the Hornets-themed 'Buzz City' and a straightforward grey and red makeup.
Ball's love of the interdimensional cartoon is on full display across his two-coloured MB.01, with the right shoe done up in neon green and yellow while the left shoe opts for a watermelon like-array of neon reds. Special details are supplied by portraits of Rick (left shoe) and Morty (right shoe) on the inside of each tongue, and the show's signature slime green interdimensional travel portals can be seen on the lace keepers. A contrasting 'M.E.L.O.' graphic appears on each heel, though we must note we'd love to have seen this swapped out to read 'Rick' and 'Morty'! Fans of the show will also be delighted to know there's a capsule of clothing including jackets, hoodies and more releasing alongside this shoe.
First closer to the top of the year and already sported on-court by Ball himself, the 'Buzz City' is a homage to the Charlotte Hornets with a black and bright teal colour scheme. The colourblocking highlights the signature 'wings' logo around the collar, insoles feature a special galaxy print and 'RARE' hits can be seen under the translucent outsoles. The 'Buzz City' will also be accompanied by a full set of apparel.
Finally, the grey and red style offers a classic hoops look that's not specific to any one team. It employs the same two-tone colourblocking scheme and 'RARE' outsole hits as the above-mentioned 'Buzz City'. It's worth acknowledging that the 'red' shade looks pretty orange in these photos, but we're taking PUMA's word for it!
The February rollout of the MB.01 will begin on the 2nd, when the 'Buzz City' drops via the PUMA web store and the greater Foot Locker family of stores. Both the Rick and Morty colab and the grey/red pair will arrive on February 18 – the former will be available at the PUMA web store and Foot Locker, the latter at the PUMA web store, Champs Sports and Eastbay.
