Rhude and Vans Celebrate California with a Bold Ni Colab
Rhuigi Villaseñor's dropped an with back in August of 2019 and the project was nearly impossible to cop: units were supposedly limited to just 300 pairs worldwide. Thankfully, however, the Californian compadres are re-teaming this October for a followup.
The is once again the canvas of choice and this time appears in a trio of clean suede colourways, each with license plate-inspired graphics on the midsole wraps and checkered outsoles as a nod to both Vans and Rhude's Cali roots.
'Growing up surrounded by the skate scene in Los Angeles made collaborating with Vans a surreal moment for all of us at Rhude,' says Villaseñor of the project. 'Vans has a unique history and connection with youth culture which is why I was so excited to push those creative boundaries with this collaboration. From a design standpoint, the colorways I chose are an homage to my love of iconic, classic cars – blue to represent the Mercedes 280 SL, red for the Ferrari 275, and black for the Porsche Carrera.'
