Restock Alert: Navy New Balance 992 Getting Wider ReleaseRelease: 1 December 2020
New Balance are absolutely steamrolling with the 992 retro at the moment. Beyond the multiple sell-out collaborations that have peppered its assortment throughout 2020, the GR editions have also been highly sought after. For example, this classic and clean navy number pretty much instantly sold out a couple of months ago when it dropped in select regions like Australia. Fortunately, this colourway, formally known as the M992GG, will see a wider global release this week.
Using the original formulation devised by its grey M992GR compatriot, the M992GG sees a blend of supple pigskin suede comprising a majority of the upper, with breathable mesh inserts across the toe box, midfoot, and ankle collar. Additional synthetic overlays reinforce high-wear areas, while relatively subtle reflective accents highlight the N logo, throat tip, and lateral ankle 992 branding.
Underfoot, the multiple-density ABZORB SBS midsole is arguably still one of NB’s most comfortable and supportive sole units, and that’s paired to a low-profile Ndurance rubber tread. After all, these were designed to be ultra-luxe, Made in USA running shoes when they first released back in 2006.
The New Balance 992 in navy is locked in for a December 1 release on SNS, so expect the other usual boutique stockists to get the drop at the same time. Good luck.
