Relive Allen Iverson’s ‘Stepover’ in the Reebok Answer 4 Retro

The 2000-1 NBA Finals series was memorable for a number of reasons, but the main highlight that Sixers and countless basketball fans worldwide will never forget was when Allen Iverson stepped over Tyronn Lue in the opening salvo.

On The Answer’s feet were his signature namesake sneakers – the Reebok Answer 4 in black and white – which are returning to store shelves this June, joining the recent OG red and white retro.

Last seen in 2017 as a limited edition drop, the ‘Stepover’ Answer 4 is a boldly colour-blocked edition of one of the most popular Iverson signatures. The stark leather toe cap is dipped in black, wrapping along the mudguard into the heel counter, before linking to the blacked-out foam midsole with its internal DMX cushioning system. This sits against nicely tumbled grain white leather on the upper quarter, which is sealed off with the design’s distinctive zippered midfoot shroud. More subtle details include Iverson’s silhouette on the underside of the arch pod, surrounded by the etched text ‘Only The Strong Survive’.

The Reebok Answer 4 ‘Stepover’ will re-release on June 4 directly from Reebok and selected global retailers.
