Release Info: Social Status Reveal Nike Dunk ‘FREE LUNCH’ Launch and Short Film
Streetwear and sneaker imprint have officially announced the release dates for their highly anticipated Dunk ‘FREE LUNCH’ collaboration. Getting things started with a Dunk, Social Status debuted a special short film alongside the launch of the upcoming ‘Chocolate Milk’ and ‘Strawberry Milk’ collaborative colourways, which are inspired by the ‘joy in the struggle’.
The beautifully shot, six-minute short tells the story of three brothers on their way to get a free lunch, and embodies the communal ethos the retailer was built on. Directed by The Turner Bros, the film can be viewed in full below.
As for the sneakers, they take on distinct Strawberry and Chocolate flavours, represented by pink and brown colour schemes, respectively. The premium aesthetic is carried with a velour and leather build and translucent Swooshes, while Social Status and Nike logos hit the tongue tags and insoles. Other neat details include a mini Swoosh on the toe, and an ingredients list on the medial side reading ‘Nike Sportswear, Social Status’.
The Social Status x Nike Dunk ‘Chocolate Milk’ will release on September 4 via Social Status’ website, with the ‘Strawberry Milk’ set to follow on September 18.
