Following the imminent release of LeBron’s Laker-themed Air Max 95, Nike are set to deliver a Dunk High EMB – the acronym representing ‘Embossed’ – nodding to the famed Los Angeles NBA franchise. After a slew of GR colourways, it’s nice to see a more outlandish take of the Dunk hit shelves, and there’s some details you may not have expected. Originally slated for an April drop, the release date has now been pushed back.

The scheme is what you’d expect, consisting of a combination of black, ‘Opti Yellow’, ‘Court Purple’, and white. The upper makes use of black canvas, as purple leather overlays and bold yellow Swoosh logos on the sides embrace the Lakers look. Coming through with a point of difference, there’s bold ‘NIKE’ embroidery at the heel, mimicking the famed Lakers emblem, while the vintage athletics aesthetic is elevated with throwback logos on the tongue and insoles. For the sole, there’s a white midsole atop a black rubber outsole, completing things in more traditional fashion.

The Nike Dunk High EMB ‘Lakers’ will now release on May 28 via select retailers and Nike. Expect to pay a recommended retail price of $110.
