Official images and a release date have been revealed for the upcoming  Air Jordan 9 with ‘University Gold’ highlights, and it’s looking mighty fine. First unveiled last month as part of Jordan Brand’s announcement of their Spring 2021 retro releases, we now have a much closer look at the colourway that boasts OG construction. The golden highlights are joined by black and ‘Dark Charcoal’, for a release that will include a full family size run.

Billed as a more subtle approach to the AJ9, this release dresses genuine nubuck leather in tones of black and charcoal, while the hits of ‘University Gold’ land on the sockliner, midsole branding, pull tab, tongue branding, and heel branding.

The Air Jordan 9 first released in 1993, and is notorious for being the first Air Jordan signature to not be worn in a game by MJ himself. This anomaly was due to the fact the GOAT was in the midst of his first NBA retirement – trying to pave his way in the game of baseball, instead of dominating the hardwood.

Pairs of the Air Jordan 9 ‘University Gold’ are expected to hit Nike and the usual Jumpman stockists on January 30 next year, which gives you time to save those pennies to treat the whole family.
