NYC graffiti legend Stash has returned to the sneaker game, teaming up with A Bathing Ape to finesse a BAPE STA in his trademark blue hue. The BAPE STA may have just celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, but it looks like BAPE are reserving their most exciting projects for the new year, following up a Gunna collaboration with this anticipated drop.
Stash’s history with BAPE runs deep, having worked with the Japanese label since the 90s. After working on various t-shirt and accessories designs, he’s now set to embark on his first project involving the streetwear brand’s footwear lineup. As you’d expect, the uppers are decorated with Stash’s signature shade of blue, with the polyurethane leather elevated with waterproof Sympatex. Stash’s tag hits on the heel embroidery, the tongue label, and insoles, while the latter also wears an ink splatter print.
The Stash x A Bathing Ape BAPE STA releases on February 13 at BAPE’s brick and mortar locations, as well as their webstore. Expect to pay￥28,000, which converts to about $267.
