One of the kingpins of 1990s hoops sneakers, Scottie Pippen’s gaudy Nike Air More Uptempo continues to stomp across the sneaker zeitgeist.

Recently remastered in the indelible ‘Hoop Pack’ and emblazoned with the work of Utagawa Kuniyoshi’s ukiyo-e style of woodblock prints, the Air More Uptempo is getting plenty of love in the first half of 2021.

The latest rendition is a two-tone look guaranteed to please Georgetown acolytes. Dubbed the ‘Loud and Clear’ colourway, the design first made an appearance in 2018, Nike’s signature ‘AIR’ branding rendered in ‘Midnight Navy’. The premium and perforated uppers are adjusted in ‘Cool Grey’, while the Swoosh logo repeats its classic motif on the toebox, tongue and heel. Down below, the midsole is packed with the legendary Air units.

Nike Korea has these scheduled to drop on July 12. As always, keep it dialled to Sneaker Freaker for global release details.

In the meantime, read up on why Scottie Pippen’s Air More Uptempo is the real MVP.
