Brain Dead are undoubtedly the kings of collaboration, the creative collective whipping up everything from cookware to rock climbing garb, and even a couple of crazy creps. Now, they’re back with Converse for a link-up that’s got people talking! Doing some recon about a week ago, we found out about the kicks through cheeky Instagram posts by Brain Dead founder Kyle Ng, and friends of the brand. The shoes have now been revealed, along with confirmation we’ll be receiving two colourways of the Chuck 70 and one pair of the Bosey MC.

Starting with the Chuck 70, Brain Dead have completely turned it on its head. The major difference is the midsole, which has been heightened with EVA foam and divided into chunks with some of them being turned upside-down, playing with the rubber lines. The first colourway is similar to its previous Chuck 70 endeavour, boasting multiple panels, this time sticking to different coloured cow prints. The second combo is a little less eye-catching, going for the classic black upper with white midsole.

Meanwhile, the Bosey MC is a modern take on a very OG Converse model: the 1940s Lakestream wading shoe. Somewhat low-key, Brain Dead have still managed to inject it with their weird and wacky aesthetic, opting for a mesh layer that cascades over a similar cow print that’s used on the Chuck 70. Green pops come through on the lace looks and heel tab, with Brain Dead wrap-around branding and their logo hit on the tongue.

The whole Brain Dead x Converse collection will be hitting select retailers, including Dover Street Market, and Brain Dead’s webstore on November 19. Also, a DSM-exclusive all-black iteration of the Chuck 70 will be dropping. So keep an eye out for that!
