It’s been a while since official pics of this  Nike  Air Huarache surfaced in May, but now there’s a release date to go with this latest colourway. Dubbed the ‘Aquatone’, this retro flavoured scheme mixes white, black, ‘Deep Magenta’ and ‘Aquatone’, and joins a growing bunch of looks for the silhouette that’s celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Some key highlights among those offerings include a  tonal tango elusive ‘Escape’, loud  ‘Scream Green’, and legendary  ‘Triple Black’. There was also a  ‘Bright Mango’ scheme that hit news feeds back in April.

Inspired by Tinker Hatfield’s ‘less is more’ design language, the Air Huarache concept was conceived when the well-known Nike designer was slipping his feet in and out of the neoprene booties found in water skiing boots. That techno-minimalism is on full display with nylon toe boxes, rubber heel cages, and leather overlays. Down below, cushy EVA foam midsoles with Air technology provide a super smooth ride.

Pairs of the ‘Aquatone’ Air Huarache are scheduled to land on August 27 at Nike and selected Swoosh retailers.
