Rejoice: The 2019 Doernbecher x Nike 2019 Freestyle Collection is Almost Here!
Release: 7 December 2019

Style Code: N/A

Colourway: Doernbecher

This year (like every other year) seems to have flown by just a little too quickly. The seasons have rotated through, long awaited drops have come and gone, and it’s about to start all over again. Though the infinite loop of time continues to roll on, there’s one shining beacon of light that we can always rely on for hope and happiness. That beacon, my friends, is the annual collaboration between Nike and the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Beginning in 2004, the Doernbecher project has patients of the medical institution submit their own fun and creative designs to tell their story. Nike then pick a handful of the proposed designs and put them into production. Once the designs are sold, profits are awarded to the hospital. This year’s collection is comprised of six different models – the Air Force 1, Air Jordan 14 Retro, React Element 55, Zoom Janoski, Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2, and Air Max Triax 96. Scroll through the images below to learn more about each design, as well as the kids who created them.

To date, the project has raised nearly $24 million for the children’s hospital, so if you’d like to become a part of the great project, be ready to cop on December 7 when each model drops at select stores and online.
