Reebok Render the Premier Road Modern in ‘Dark Hyper’ for High VisibilityRelease: 1 August 2021
Beyond their strong retro focus, Reebok have been allotting a good amount of attention to their latest futuristic models such as the Premier Road Modern, which returns this season in a new bright colourway. The model has previously been pushed down a collaborative route by Korean label KANGHYUK, while a steady stream of inline releases and limited editions have kept interest up.
This new ‘Dark Hyper’ iteration recalls the first ‘Hyper’ inline colourway and gives it a twilight flip, adding copious amounts of black panelling. This acts to somewhat obscure the Premier Road Modern’s advanced upper, which is actually moulded as a single piece. The high-tech model also makes use of grated mesh windows and rubberised overlays to add plenty of visual depth. While there is a lot of black on the upper, lightning yellow underlays and the retained ‘Hyper’ blue accents keep the colourway interesting.
There are also some performance specifications that hark back to this model’s early-2000s sporting inspiration, namely the DMX Ride tuned foam midsole and stability shank underneath the sole arch. After all, this model is based on Reebok’s top-tier running shoes from back in the day.
The Reebok Premier Road Modern is out now from Reebok Asia and retailers in selected regions.
