The PUMA Stewie 2 ‘Ruby’ Is Dedicated to Breanna Stewart’s Daughter
WNBA MVP and athlete Breanna Stewart joining the New York Liberty to link up with Jonquel Jones and Sabrina Ionescu made news across the W and made them instant title contenders. As we anticipate the 2023 WNBA season in a few weeks, are debuting a sequel to Breanna’s signature sneaker, the PUMA Stewie 2, which will drop later this month.
‘As I began creating my second signature shoe with PUMA, I knew I wanted to name it after my daughter, Ruby. Not only to symbolise the incredible bond I share with my daughter but also to pay homage to the unwavering strength and resilience of mothers everywhere,’ said Stewart. ‘Being a mother inspires me to be the best version of myself every day, and I hope wearing the Ruby colorway empowers others to recognize the limitless abilities and spirit within themselves.’
The launch colourway is dubbed ‘Ruby’ after Breanna’s daughter and is seen in a tonal red colourway with PUMA’s PWRTAPE placed in high-wear areas to bring durability and support to the sneaker. The lightweight sneaker uses a mesh construction with Stewie’s logo seen on the tongue and Formstrip on the medial and lateral sides. NITRO-injected foam is used for impact protection with a dual herringbone and radial outsole pattern featuring Stewie’s logo and Big Cat finishing off the sneaker.
The PUMA Stewie 2 ‘Ruby’ is set to drop on May 19, 2023, via PUMA’s channels and at select retailers for $125, with accompanying apparel as well.
