PUMA Speed Up the RS-FastRelease: 16 October 2020
PUMA’s experimental RS line has seen radical reinvention in recent years – it started off when they put a computer into a sneaker, after all – and their latest RS-Fast, as the name suggests, is quick to the draw.
Featuring incremental alterations to the complex layered panels and flowing organic shapes of the upper, the RS-Fast places particular focus on the leaping cat logo, instead of the usual Formstripe. This deviation sees the stripped branding move to the midsole in a similar fashion to its RS-Dreamer basketball cousin. Staying underfoot, the foam shapes are relatively pared back in comparison to its bulbous predecessors. And the outsole, despite its multishaped colour explosion, has a level finish for predictable grip.
Up top, the most exciting colourway runs the full gamut of vibrant shades across the predominantly leather upper, but tactical mesh toe box inserts prevent things from getting too steamy under the bonnet. But if the technicolour dream shoe is too hot to handle, PUMA also offer some more conventional white/black with accent options. Other restrained features include the shrunken TPU heel hardware, speed loop lacing system paired with elastic ties, and a regular-sized heel pull tab.
They’ve just launched at PUMA retailers. Go. Quickly, now.
