Proenza Schouler and Vans Roll Out a Luxurious Slip-On Colab
Link ups between high fashion and sneaker brands have been a mainstay of the scene since the 90s, but it’s always interesting to see new luxury labels dip their toes into the space. The latest take comes from New York-based brand , who’ve travelled over to the West Coast to join forces with on their iconic .
Staying true to typical skate language, Proenza Schouler’s first-ever Vans colab involves a puffy silhouette with dialled-up padding, leaving the 70s silhouette with a similar vibe to the newer . However, it's worth noting that they’re not exactly thrash-friendly – the pairs swap out the model’s usual canvas construction for soft and buttery leather.
Proenza Schouler have rolled out three colourways of the collaborative model: ‘Ecru’, ‘Black’, and ‘Resin’. The details on the design remain minimalistic and refined, keeping with the luxury label’s ethos. Tonal tags grace the midfoot panels for a subtle branding hit, while the exaggerated rubber sole units feature contrasting debossed Vans logos at the heel.
The Proenza Schouler x Vans collaboration is available to shop now at both retailers for $200; however, the 'Resin' iteration looks to be exclusive to Proenza Schouler. Hit the links below to secure your size.
