Mark Suciu, a California-born, goofy-stance pro skater known for dropping hammers and technical tricks in equal measures, has teamed up with adidas Skateboarding for a new Gazelle ADV. The Gazelle may be an adidas running and training classic that's been around since the 1960s, but Suciu's skate-ified version recrafts it to suit a new purpose.

Sandwiching a rich green suede upper in between cream leather tongues and cream rubber midsoles, this Gazelle ADV gives off a terrace culture-approved look. However, what makes it different from a standard footy fan shoe is its construction. The green suede upper is thicker than normal to provide the enhanced durability required of a shoe that's going to be scraped on coarse grip tape, and gum outsoles feature a hexagonal pattern for optimum board feel. To make sure you know whose shoe it is, Suciu's name is stamped in gold foil under the collar.

'The Gazelle is one of the most time-tested classics from adidas,' said Suciu. 'It feels like an extension of my foot. I forget about the shoe entirely and just think about my board. To be personally associated with the shoe, and, by extension, the legacy of [adidas] is a huge honour.”

You can expect Mark Suciu's adidas Gazelle ADV skate shoe to drop via the adidas webstore come October 23.
