You Gotta Catch All of the Pokémon x Converse CollectionRelease: 10 December 2021
Over the years, Converse have proven to be no strangers to pop culture crossovers. Their latest nostalgia-inducing collaboration is with the Pokémon franchise for its 25th anniversary, which captures the pure joy and universal appeal of the cute critters in sneaker form. The pack consists of multiple graphic options in the Chuck Taylor All Star (CTAS) for the entire family, plus some anime apparel too.
One of the lead colourways is a simple black canvas CTAS, which will have Poké purists and 90s kids pleased as the original Kanto Region starters Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur, plus a cameo from Jigglypuff and Meowth, all make an appearance on-side. Of course, the face of the entire franchise, Pikachu, also shows up. An embroidered tongue label, lightning bolt license plate and Pokéball ankle patch and eyelets complete the colab.
While that pair sees a full family size run, the young ones are treated to some specials. Another CTAS sees black outline graphics depicting the OG starters printed all over a white canvas upper, which is contrasted by red lining and insoles.
And even more exclusive is a duo of infant-sized Cons for the smallest sneakerheads. An electrifying yellow Pikachu pair is complete with tail attachments and smiling toe caps, while the Jigglypuff option is pretty in pink.
The Pokémon x Converse collection will release on the Converse webstore come January 7.
