Plaid-Patterned 1300s Cap Off New Balance Japan Online Store’s 14th Anniversary
Japan have operated an online store since 2006, and they’re marking this year’s 14th anniversary with a string of commemorative releases. Among the usual promo discounts and shipping deals, there are some quirky drops, like a grey woollen suit, and a collaboration with luggage company Briefing. But the highlight of these October-long celebrations will be an exclusive edition of the decked out in plaid.
As an esteemed elder member of NB’s heritage designs, and a particularly popular model in Japan for decades, it’s only fitting these 1300s have become all grown up. Codenamed the M1300TB, they’re covered in a mix of plaid and chequered fabrics, set against regal shades of grey and red pigskin suede. Veg tan leather heel tabs and stark white ENCAP soles invite further ageing – something the 1300 has done so gracefully for over 35 years.
Like many NB JP specials, this one will be very difficult to obtain outside of Japan. In the meantime, you can check out all of their upcoming specials on the New Balance Japan .
However, keep an extra close eye out on October 22, when a pre-order window will open up, with delivery taking place in late December. Call up the plug.
