UPDATE: Well, that did take long! After our preview yesterday of the upcoming Pigalle x Nike Dunk, Taiwan retailer Invincible have dropped a series of images giving us a much closer look of the sneaker. Pigalle branding is littered throughout the sneaker, including underneath the translucent outsole. According to the retailer's Facebook, this sneaker is expected to be released on the 27th of June at Invincible, and judging from previous NikeLab releases this should be the uniform date across the globe. So if you want to add this latest Pigalle sneaker into your collection, set your alarm clocks this Saturday!
French label Pigalle teamed up with Nike last year for a super fresh AF1 collection, then again for their basketball themed collection that included a duo of Air Raids, but rather than colour block another set of sneakers for their third go with Nike, they've decided to work on an updated version of the Dunk from NikeLab to create something we've never seen before. It looks like NikeLab have attempted to lighten the vintage Dunk silhouette, trimming the fat on the heel section and utilising synthetic overlays to create the mudguard to minimise upper construction. While it isn't clear what the primary upper material is from this Dover Street Market preview, it does look like the laces will be held tight with a AJV-esque lace lock. This single image has definitely got us intrigued over here at SFHQ, can't wait to see more flicks as we lead up to its unveiling! Stay posted!
