Patta and Nike have announced a release date for the fourth and final pair in their lineup of 2021 Air Max 1 colabs. Simply dubbed the 'Black', it was revealed by Union founder Chris Gibbs in November, and now it's set to hit shelves in the coming days.

Much like its three previously-released counterparts – the 'Monarch', the 'Noise Aqua' and the 'Rush Maroon' – the 'Black' is centred around a signature wavy mudguard. 'It can be a gamble to change something so beloved, especially because a lot of Patta fans are OG sneakerheads,' Patta creative director Vincent Van de Waal told us in Sneaker Freaker #46. That gamble certainly paid off though, as that wavy mudguard has become one of the most notable sneaker alterations of 2021! Besides the mudguard, the rest of the shoe mixes black leather and nubuck with steel grey mesh. A white Swoosh and 'Coconut Milk' midsoles complete the look, and the shoes are packaged in a special box and accompanied by a Patta x Nike bracelet.

Apart from announcing a release date for the kicks, Patta also have premiered the fourth and final short film in their 'Waves Not Cycles' video project. Main character Abdul Sessay realises his personal power and gets a 'seat at the table', a story of self-growth that can be seen in full above.

Look for the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 'Black' and a corresponding set of apparel to release via the Patta web store December 10. A drop on SNKRS and at Union will follow shortly thereafter, but its official date has yet to be revealed.
