Paria Farzaneh Goes Technical on the Converse Pro Leather X2Release: 27 November 2020
London-based fashion designer Paria Farzaneh helms her namesake label, and has been continually making waves within fashion circles ever since her debut onto the scene. A daughter of Iranian born parents, Paria has become well known for her signature textiles and prints that can be traced back to her family heritage. Joining forces with Converse, she’s the first collaborator to put her touch on the Pro Leather X2.
Paria has really gone against the grain here, ignoring the Pro Leather X2’s roots as a basketball silhouette to turn it into a technical hiking-inspired experimental crep that perfectly captures her signature aesthetic. Debuting during Paria’s London Fashion Week show dubbed ‘Number 6’ in September of this year, the Pro Leather X2 wears a low-key sandy colourway – but the devil is in the details!
For starters, the sole unit has been enlarged with added traction. Elsewhere, the specialised patterned material underlays that can be seen across much of Paria’s work make a statement across the design, alongside the custom tongue branding. Continuing the hiking aesthetic is the D-ring eyelets and two-tone laces.
A unisex model, you can find the Paria Farzaneh x Converse Pro Leather X2 exclusively at Converse on November 27.
