Palace Dropping Triple Reebok NPC Colab
are continuing their with by releasing a trio of skate-ready . This marks a return to griptape as the last Palace x Reebok colab was on the , which was more of an off-board leisure model than a kick-flipping machine.
The NPC, short for Newport Classic, is a true example of the Reebok Classic line, having been an integral part of the brand’s tennis line since the mid 1980s. Its crossover appeal from tennis to street use also transcended continental borders, as its immediate popularity in the US was also experienced over in the UK. So, it’s no surprise the London-founded Palace have used this silhouette for a collaboration.
In typical skateable mode, these NPCs use sturdy materials like solid leather or suede all over. OG elements from the tennis model are retained, such as terry towel lining, because they’ve turned out to be pretty versatile. As is the low-profile outsole tread that’s actually quite grippy. Palace often make many logo flips, and this lateral midfoot placement resembles something of a cross between the Polo Ralph Lauren crest and even a bit of Phat Farm.
The Palace x Reebok NPC releases on April 2 to coincide with Palace’s Week 8 drop of their Spring/Summer ’21 collection.
