The UK’s Offspring are backing up their ‘Britpack’ with two unique Vans made in collaboration with Clothsurgeon. The fruits of this colab – an Old Skool and a Sk8-Hi – have elements you’d find on bespoke menswear, combined with skate heritage. Clothsurgeon designer Rav Matharu used the Vans worn by Jeff Spicoli of Fast Times at Ridgemont High as a starting point for the sneakers, but flipped the sensibilities to align more with luxury footwear. The checkerboard pattern of Spicoli's Vans is tucked away behind the translucent outsole, and a build of premium veg tan sits on top. Both the Black Sk8-Hi and nude Old Skool then have a gimping detail that traces the vulcanised midsole that references British shoe-making tradition.
The Offspring x Clothsurgeon x Vans pack will be available in limited quantities from Selfridges in store and online from November 4.
