Official Pics: Stingwater x Nike SB Dunk Low 'Magic Mushroom' Gets a Release DateRelease: 10 May 2021
Former Quartersnacks Skater of the Year, Daniel Kim, has delivered a 'Magic Mushroom' take on the Nike SB Dunk Low in collaboration with his Stingwater label. Continuing to keep it close to the culture, Nike’s skate faction link with the New York brand for a memorable colourway inspired by Stingwater’s central motifs: mushrooms, and their mythical properties. After a series of leaked peeks, official imagery is now here, giving us a detailed look at all the wild details.
Without a doubt, the most distinguishable feature of this colourway is the bright red leather base and its white dots on the overlays, designed to mimic the spots on a toadstool. Offsetting the red is white mesh tongues, lining and laces, while the traditional side branding has been replaced with a miniature Swoosh and Stingwater branding in an alphabet soup style. Additionally, a tan branded patch with ‘Very Speshal’ text replaces the traditional tongue label, while the ‘Nike’ on the heel has been reversed. Down below, we’ve got an icy blue translucent midsole and outsole, which houses giant ‘PLANT EMOJI’ and ‘WITH EYES’ black print underneath. Adding to the ‘magic’, we get a sneaky stash pocket in the tongue (with a mushroom graphic just below), co-branded insoles with ‘Please Don’t Step on Me, I’m Tryin’ to GROE’ print, and three different laces.
With this official look comes a release date! The Stingwater x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Magic Mushroom’ is set to drop at select skate shops on May 10. Don’t sleep on ’em.
