Long-time Nike collaborator Parra continues to impress with his design nous in 2021, the Dutch artist landing a lucrative deal with Nike to create uniforms for skateboarding teams at the Tokyo Olympics.

While most sneakerheads are familiar with Parra’s work in the late-2010s with Nike and Nike SB, his sneaker collaborations actually date back to 2005, with an extensive catalogue that features gems like the ASICS GEL-Lyte Speed, Vans Sk8-Hi, and Converse Chuck Taylor All Star.

First teased earlier this year, the latest Parra x Nike SB Dunk Low is designed to extend the aesthetic vocabulary of the uniforms worn by the USA, Japan, Brazil and France athletes. Composed with his familiar, colourful geometric patterns, Parras inimitable artistic style features his vibrant overlays featuring blue, red and pink shades. For visual balance, Parra opts for a clean black Swoosh and clean white underlays while, down below, a white midsole complements the vintage rubber outsoles.

While we’ve already seen on-foot shots of a potential, uber-limited F&F version, this is sure to be a broader release – albeit still a very difficult cop! – over the coming months.
