Official Images: The Black-on-Black Stussy x Nike Air Force 1Release: 15 December 2020
Stussy, the legendary California-based streetwear brand, are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, and they’ve had some hectic high-profile collaborations to celebrate. In particular, their work with Nike has been top notch, earlier this year unleashing a slew of Spiridon Cages – including an iteration that boasted a plastic exoskeleton reminiscent of the Air Kukini. Capping off their monumental year with a bang, the final co-branded joint effort with Team Swoosh will be on an Air Force 1.
This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about the link-up either, way back in May leaks started circulating, sparking multiple whispers about the enigmatic Stussy AF-1. Luckily, we now have the official pics of the black-on-black colourway, plus some pretty concrete information to share with you!
Taking a look at the crep above, it just looks like a simplistic, classic ‘Triple Black’ Air Force 1, however the devil is in the details. If you take a closer look at the materials, you’ll see that it doesn’t use the usual leather, instead rocking a canvas or hemp-like material upper. The side Swooshes have also received some special treatment, looking like they’ve been embroidered. The rear heel tab has been given the same treatment, and has been tricked-up using a bedazzled Stussy emblem. The collar has been lined with luxe leather, while co-branding on the toe box and tongue complete the look.
You can expect the Stussy x Nike Air Force 1 to drop via SNKRS on December 13, we’ll keep you updated if this changes, and if we get more information on the ‘Fossil Stone’ pair that is also expected to release soon.
