Is This Off-White's Air Jordan 5?
A release is still supposedly a few months away, but we may have our very first look at Virgil Abloh's next Jordan Brand collaboration.
According to solebyjc, this is the long-rumoured Off-White x Air Jordan 5. The 30th anniversary colab is a clear nod to 1990's Black/Metallic OG, and even adds a yellowed outsole to the mix, as well the '23' – neither of which appeared on 2016's retro. Naturally, the construction has been overhauled dramatically, and appears to swap out nubuck in favour of ripstop nylon. Abloh has even cut a window out of the ankle area and added the circular cutout to the lateral side's moulded synthetic – an apparent reinterpretation of the polka dots that decorated his Zoom Fly Mercurial Flyknit. It also looks like a chunk of the reflective tongue has been cut out.
Stay tuned for more ahead of 2020's release, which is reportedly slated to go down during 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago.
