Do you remember toward the beginning of last month, that a Brain Dead x Oakley collaboration was circling the internet? Well, it’s finally been officially revealed and there’s more to it than meets the eye. It turns out with the help of Brain Dead, Oakley will be relaunching their Oakley Factory Team where they will create experimental and innovative products with Brain Dead acting as the R&D wing of the conceptual sub-brand. Their first project will be on three Flesh silhouettes that are set to debut this month.

In a press release, Brain Dead co-founder Kyle Ng has said about the partnership ‘Brain Dead has always been one to push the boundaries of the avant-garde via experimentation. We look to take the founders of Oakley’s original concepts and ideas and bring them forward into our new world. Some of Oakley’s earliest designs, such as the Flesh, seemed so futuristic at the time that it is only now that they have begun to feel like contemporary objects.’

Dubbed the Oakley Factory Team Flesh, the 'Ice' and Lime/Blue pairs have been reimagined and feature new oval engravings that will be exclusively released via Brain Dead channels. However there is also the Sand/Blue colourway that will get a wider release and rocks a standard smooth build. All three pairs come equipped with brushed calf leather, neoprene bootie and Oakley toe box branding.

The Brain Dead-curated Oakley Factory Team Flesh D1 Collection featuring the ‘Ice’ and Lime/Blue colourways will release on April 19 while the D2 Collection hosting the Sand/Blue will drop on May 3.
