Designed to tackle ultramarathons, long trail runs, and off-road training sessions, the stylish performance-packed silhouette combines On’s storied heritage with the latest technology to emerge from their design house.
A perennial pain for long distance runners, the issue of foot swell has been addressed with the development of FlipRelease. Premiering on the Cloudultra, this latest technology is placed in the forefoot, relieving uncomfortable pressure with a simple flip of the small tool secured to the lacing system.
Taking inspiration from its road counterpart – the Cloudstratus – the Cloudultra doubles up with dual CloudTec layers for extra cushioning and enduring comfort on long runs. Meanwhile, a connected midsole increases impact protection, working alongside a closed Missiongrip outsole to create a seriously stable base. Up top, it’s all about adaptability, with a sock-like construction providing a precise fit, and perforated sandwich mesh keeping things breezy.
Ahead of the debut release, the experts at ISPO – the largest international sporting goods trade fair – have already tested it and had their say, bestowing the Cloudultra with the ISPO Award for 2021.
