The Zoom Vomero 5 is a sneaker that’s surged again in the zeitgeist in recent years, so Nike continue to roll out fresh colourways for its insatiable acolytes. Originally released in 2011, the runner has benefited from the teched-out, nostalgia-laden Y2K sneaker trend – a movement that has also seen ASICS, New Balance and Saucony capitalise. The latest colourway brings together all of the silhouette’s aesthetic virtues while implementing a more neutral palette, with the ‘Light Bone’ and ‘Black’ iterations easily paired with any ‘fit.

In the words of Nike, the colourway also ‘stays lit long after the sun goes down’, with glow-in-the-dark detailing on the uppers and reflective materials on the heels. Custom Seoul-inspired inserts also provide some extra swagger for your late-night saunters.

Of course, the Vomero 5 also features all of the design hallmarks that made the model such a runaway hit, including a complex layering of synthetic suede, mesh and plastic accents. In the engine room down below, Cushlon foam and Zoom Air cushioning provide an ultra-smooth ride.

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is available from Nike and select retailers on August 2.

In the meantime, make sure to check out why we’re not sleeping on the modern classic.
