’s storied line of sneakers dedicated to his late aunt has just received another heart-warming colourway. After a spree of typically or make-ups, this ‘Aunt Pearl’ goes down a darker route. The deep black and orange/red that shows on both the Swoosh and from beneath the breathable Flyknit are said to be drawn from KD’s memory of her, but the exact reasoning isn’t divulged – perhaps for personal reasons. The shoe’s altruistic nature is then shown on the loop symbol on the pull tab and on the Kay Yow Cancer Fund branding – where proceeds from the shoe go to– which is printed on the insole.
