Nike Unearth Previously Unreleased Alternative Navy Air Presto ‘USA’Release: 11 November 2020
Nike are paying particular attention to the Air Presto in 2020 – it’s the ‘T-Shirt For Your Feet’ sneaker’s 20th birthday after all. The next limited edition to join the party might be recognised by the most diehard of Presto fans, but to most this will be the first time they’ve seen it.
This is an alternative version of the ‘USA’ Air Presto, which was first spotted in early press photos back in 2000. It differs from the retail release mainly due to its dark navy upper, as opposed to light grey, while the other details are largely identical. Nike have pulled out all stops to replicate this previously unreleased colourway, which features a distinct concentric and overlapping circular pattern on the toe box, custom Team USA tongue embroidery, and reflective dots on the heel pull tab. The number 20 is printed on the left shoe’s insole to mark the anniversary. A tri-tone Phylon and Air midsole is shaded navy, grey and red, just like the regular version.
The ‘USA’ Air Presto launched the dynamic silhouette at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, alongside the ‘Australia’ edition, which was reissued earlier this year after being an athlete-exclusive back in the day. Unlike the Down Under colourway, the ‘USA’ was sold publicly, and was retroed in 2016.
The alternative navy Air Presto ‘USA’ will be available for public feet from November 11 onwards.
