Nike Share Two Amazing One-of-One Doernbecher Samples
Nike's Doernbecher Freestyle Program continues to raise funding for Portland's Doernbecher Children's Hospital by inviting a handful of the hospital's brave young patients to design their very own sneakers. Now in its eleventh year, the program continues to deliver some of the most creative and sought-after sneakers of the year, and the latest collection is no exception, although there are two pairs you can rule out ever owning.
One-of-one alternate colourways of the Air Jordan 12, designed by Carissa Navarro, and Air More Uptempo, designed by Brody Miller, were on display at a Nike Doernbecher charity auction event over the weekend.
The Swoosh produced a red rendition of Brody's Uptempo design with star-spangled inner lining as a gift for his neurosurgeon Dr Lissa Baird. The shoes come complete with Baird's initials embroidered on the tongue, styled after Wonder Woman's logo.
Carissa's special AJ 12 switches the popping pink hues of the retail release for shades of blue. The pair was created for her twin sister, who is credited with saving her life in the womb.
