Nike Releasing Euro-Exclusive Air Huarache For SNKRS Day 2021
SNKRS Day is one of the newest unofficial holidays in the sneakerhead calendar. Launched a couple of years ago to celebrate the preferred drop method for Swoosh sneakers, August 8 has become an annual date to look out for, with limited edition releases a certainty on the day. For SNKRS Day 2021, Nike will be releasing a new colourway – but it’ll be exclusive to Europe.
Actually, this colourway isn’t exactly a brand new, original creation. Some may recognise this white, yellow, red and leopard adorned Huarache has borrowed its hide from an old colourway known as the ‘Yellow Safari’. That release dates back to 2007, and was exclusive to Canadian stockists. So, it would appear this Huarache’s Euro-exclusive status has borrowed more than just its colourway from the AM1.
Of course, being a different silhouette means the colours haven’t transferred over identically. The toe box on these Huaraches is solid yellow leather as opposed to the mudguard on the AM1, while the mid panel is leopard pattern. It’s finished by a red ankle strap that displays 8.8.21 on the medial side – the date of SNKRS Day 2021. The outsole is also a dark grey ice type, with more tonal leopard hiding underneath.
