Nike Reference Their History with the Waffle Racer 2XRelease: 4 September 2020
A humble waffle iron was responsible for some of Nike’s earliest success in the 1970s, so they pay tribute to this fact with a new Waffle Racer 2X release. This model is a reimagined form of the heritage runner, and not only features enlarged proportions, but also a little waffle iron swing tag!
Like so many sneakers from that golden era, this one uses suede and nylon construction, but gets a modern update with ripstop panelling on the toe box and quarters. The waffle tread wraps the forefoot and reveals spaced out rubber studs. They certainly look cosy.
They’re out now at retailers like SVD.
