Update February 23, 2024: It's finally happened! After two years of rumours, Nike have locked in the return of the 2006 PE 'Fruity Pebbles' LeBron 4. Cop through SNKRS on March 7.

When it comes to iconic LeBron James silhouettes, they don’t get more iconic than his 2006 Player-Exclusive ‘Fruity Pebbles’ Nike Lebron 4. Worn on court by James in his third regular season, the salute to the Flintstones cereal laid a foundation for bowlfuls of Fruity Pebble inspired Lebron and broader Swoosh silhouettes, from the LeBron 19 Low to the Dunk Low. But despite the onslaught of different forms, none were more coveted than the rare 2006 OG, which never got a wide release.

In 2022, the news fans had been waiting 16 years for arrived – the former PE would see a general release that year. Alas, the drop ended up getting postponed, and postponed... and now two years later, they still haven’t splashed down. But recently, there’s been developments that the pair will finally see a release, and now official looks from Nike hint at a Spring 2024 release.

The beloved details are all on display, but they’ve been given a clear and sleek tooling, updating the retro with modern sensibilities. Fitted in a white upper lifted from the Foamposite, the neutral canvas is colourfully contrasted by the Fruity Pebbles speckled midsole with matching transparent rainbow six-piece outsole underneath. The cereal motif decorates the sockliner and the underside of the tongue, which also features a Fruity Pebbles branded tag – a new addition that wasn’t on the 06 version but did pop up on the Lebron 19 Low. Purple accents the underside of the pull tab on the heel and on the laces, which peek out from the strap system.

There’s no confirmed release date from Nike yet, but the official looks show the dream will soon become a reality, with the pair anticipated to release in Spring 2024. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for more updates.
