Jalen Brunson Laces Nike Kobe 6 ‘Statue of Liberty’

Turquoise and black Nike Zoom sneaker on green-grey background

The New York Knicks are in a rough spot, now trailing 0–2 in the Eastern Conference Finals after dropping both games at Madison Square Garden. Hopes were high heading into the series, but Indiana has managed to silence the MSG crowd twice in a row, leaving fans stunned and the team in must-win territory. Still, amid the heartbreak, Jalen Brunson managed to shine via his footwear.

Brunson laced up the Protro ‘Statue of Liberty’ in Game 2, and the model made quite a cobalt splash on the hardwood. Drenched in ‘Hyper Turquoise’ with bold ‘Metallic Copper’ accents, the shoe is a clear nod to Lady Liberty herself. A marbled sole and that signature Zoom Air cushioning round out the design, ensuring it’s game-ready while dripping in symbolism. The best part about all of this? The model is actually slated to release later this year!

Of course, Brunson has cemented himself as the unofficial king of Kobe PEs this season, debuting three of the most talked-about Player Edition colourways on the hardwood. He first spun heads with the Protro – a vivid Joker-inspired mash-up of black, purple, neon green, and crimson. He then laced the Protro, a tribute to his two NCAA titles at Villanova. Most recently, Brunson flexed the Kobe 5 Protro – short for ‘What The Rick’ – a kaleidoscopic PE whose multicoloured panels pay homage to each NBA team his father, Rick Brunson, played for (including the Knicks, Sonics, Celtics, and more).

No official release dates have surfaced, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
