The launch colourway dubbed ‘Day One’ takes inspiration from Ja’s basketball upbringing. While some got state-of-the-art gyms and facilities, Ja grew up shooting on crooked rims and repurposed resources around him to get to where he’s at today.
The mesh upper and leather overlays are seen in Cobalt Bliss with Citron Tint and Hot Punch accenting the sneaker throughout. The Swoosh is seen in the accenting hues in a gradient look that wraps around the heel to the medial side. Morant’s logo appears on the tongue tag with the heel counter featuring ‘12 AM’ throughout in his handwriting. His penmanship is seen again on the insole dedicated to the people around him and his haters.
Citron Tint is seen on the midsole that uses a forefoot Zoom Air unit for impact protection, with Medium Soft Pink making up the outsole to finish off the sneaker.
The Nike Ja 1 ‘Day One’ is set to drop on April 19, 2023, via Nike’s channels and at select retailers for $110.
