Update August 30, 2022: This Nike Dunk Low previously took on the nickname ‘Reverse Kentucky’, but they're officially known as ‘Racer Blue’! You‘ll have a chance to cop them on September 3 via the Nike App. Scroll down to hit the link.

When most people hear the term 'reverse dunk,' they think of an acrobatic, inverted slam dunk. When sneakerheads hear 'reverse dunk,' they think of a flip-flopped Dunk colourway from Nike. The latest Dunk to get switched up is the famous Dunk Low 'Kentucky,' a blue-and-white colour scheme with roots that run all the way back to 1985's original set of Dunk Highs.

As its name indicates, the 'Reverse Kentucky' retains Kentucky Wildcats blue and white, but switches the placement of each colour. This means that the toebox, quarter panel and collar are done up in blue while the mudguard, eyestays, Swoosh and heel are presented in white. Heel tabs, tongues and their branding are inverted as well, but the original pair's blue laces and white midsole/blue outsole combo remain intact so the look isn't too jarring! Keen-eyed Dunk fans may also realize that a similar remix was employed on the recent Dunk Low 'University Red,' a white-and-red colour scheme also from the 'Be True to Your School' pack that originally nodded to St. John's University.

Though we're still awaiting an official release date, the presence of official images indicates that the Nike Dunk Low 'Reverse Kentucky' will drop in the coming weeks. The price will not be reversed: it should still retail for $100 instead of $001.
