Nike’s ‘Panda-monium’ Dunks Bring Blind-Box Chaos

The ‘Panda’ is waking from hibernation – again. Since its March 2021 debut, the black-and-white staple has for the Swoosh, thanks to its no-frills design and relentless restocks.
To celebrate the Dunk’s 40th year, it looks like Nike are diving into the mystery-pack world with a new ‘Panda-monium’ concept set to launch this August. Based on early leaked imagery, the upcoming release is expected to feature sealed packaging, hiding the contents from buyers until they rip it open – a nod to the chaos that’s defined collectibles like Pop Mart and But instead of vinyl figurines, you’ll be scoring one of two mystery Dunk colourways.
One option sticks close to the beloved ‘Panda’ formula in crisp black and white. The other mixes earthy olive and brown hues across a bouclé-style upper, offering a more naturalistic take on the theme. Both designs keep things textural and tactile, twisting the standard Dunk formula with a collectible twist.
Nike’s no stranger to the mystery game. We’ve seen surprise SNKRS drops, regional exclusives, and sealed packaging used before – most notably on colabs like the 2022 HUF ‘Mystery Bag’ release, which hid city-themed pairs in opaque wrapping. But this marks a rare case of a mainline Dunk Low getting the full blind-box treatment, sealed up and ready to shock.
No exact drop date yet, but the ‘Panda-monium’ Dunks are expected to land in August 2025 as part of the 40th-anniversary festivities. Better start practising your unboxing face now.
