The year was 2006. It was game four of the Western Conference Playoffs between the LA Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers were down by one point – 97 to 98 – with just 6.1 seconds left on the clock and tip-off to resume play. In the next moment, Luke Walton knocked the ball behind and it was promptly scooped up by , who drove it to the top of the key and unleashed a do-or-die shot to secure victory for LA.

While the Lakers flubbed their next three games and were eliminated in the first round of the Playoffs, Kobe's play in the final seconds was ultimately one of the most exciting of the entire season.

With the 2018 Playoffs around the corner, are commemorating the Black Mamba's legendary buzzer beater by serving up the in the same white, purple and gold make-up worn by Kobe during game four. An embroidered '8' at the heel nods to Kobe's jersey number during the 2006 Playoffs — the last time he wore it before switching to '24.'

The Nike Kobe 1 Protro 'Final Seconds' will be released on April 14 through select Nike retailers.
