Nike Brings Back the Air Foamposite DoernbecherRelease: 21 February 2019
Elijah Diggins’ Air Foamposite One from 2013 remains one of the most revered releases ever from Nike’s ongoing Doernbecher Freestyle program. Now, to mark the initiative’s 15-year anniversary, the fiery Foam is back!
Rocking a ‘Challenge Red’ upper inspired by Diggins’ Burkitt leukemia condition, and his favourite basketball team, the sneaker is elevated with a special sockliner emblazoned with a special silver bracelet graphic — a gift given to Elijah the day he was diagnosed with blood cancer. His signature dons the hangtag, while a playful emblem dresses the heel to cap things off.
Six years on, Elijah has successfully beaten the disease and is at college studying science and playing baseball.
Cop his Doernbecher Freestyle when it hits Nike SNKRS at 10AM ET.
