Nike Break Silence On Air Max 97's New Design
Following previews from crafty sneaker leakers, Nike have finally spoken about their new Air Max 97 and put a lid on speculation by revealing a sizeable roll-out. Looking at the leaks, we know they’ve got more up their sleeve – official information from the Swoosh has only built on this big-bubbled bombshell.
Beaverton's input also busted a popular myth. Ask anyone about the Air Max 97's history and you’ll likely get the same answer: the shoe’s design references Japan’s sleek bullet trains. But Nike have set the record straight: the shoe wasn’t a railway reimagining, but a tribute to the original designer’s favourite mountain bike. The more you know.
As for the all-new Air Max 97 Ultra, a host of updates have been applied. Air heads will be struck by the single-shell upper, but that chassis has also been fine tuned. The PSI in the Air unit has been tweaked for a softer ride and its surrounding foam has been trimmed to bring the foot closer to the ground. The cherry on top? All the upcoming colourways are unreal. See them all here and plot out your next purchase.
The ‘Silver Bullet’ Air Max 97 Ultra will be available on August 5 from SNKRS, just after the new OG designs.
