Nike Air Zoom Kd9
After four years of development, Kevin Durant's ninth signature shoe with Nike is here. Designed by Leo Chang and engineered "down to the pixel", the shoe is exemplary of Nike's drive for innovation in 2016. Tracking Durant's movements over the court, the Swoosh scientists realised he was running approximately four miles a game, something like 15 marathons a season, and upped the ante on support. A honeycomb Flyknit structure over the forefoot secures Durant's feet when he's making his typical multidirectional movements, but it's the brand new Air Zoom unit that pedestals the shoe's technology. Taking up most of those three years of development time, the air unit spans the entire foot with fibres that compress under the foot and spring back for maximum impact protection.
The Nike Air Zoom KD9 will release on June 20 and will be worn by KD at the Rio Olympics.
