The Nike Air Rift has always been an ‘if you know, you know’ sneaker. Releasing in 1996, the Air Rift has a strong yet low-key cult following, serving as an absolute wardrobe staple. And although it’s been around now for many years, sneakerheads are still intrigued with its design.
Despite regularly missing out on being a part of Nike’s annual retro offerings, the brand has recently been dropping the silhouette in new colourways.
Last month it surfaced in a muted ‘Honey Dew’ colourway, featuring light sail uppers and subtle hits of green. Before that, the Air Rift arrived in a very summer-ready make-up, featuring all-white uppers contrasted with bright green and neon green neoprene detailing. The latest has taken on a much more striking getup, coming through in a murdered-out, all-black look. Unsure of whether this colourway is perfect for the hotter or cooler months? That’s because it’ll make for a perfect wardrobe staple no matter the season!
