Update April 5, 2022: Last month news that the next Nike Air Rift would be releasing began to circulate! And now just a few weeks later, they've dropped! Constructed from a linen canvas upper in stone grey, the pairs are accented with orange trimming and blue heel straps. Then below they sit on Nike Grind outsoles! Pairs are currently available to purchase now from Nike China.

The Nike Air Rift is circling back into the spotlight in the early half of the year, once again with a Grind outsole! The 90s silhouette has taken a bit of a backseat on the brand's releases roster in recent times, but it's not unreasonable to think that it's well and truly due for a comeback.

Last year the Air Rift returned in a black edition and also a white. It also surfaced in a pinked out style, with Grind soles – which means that manufacturing scrap and other unused manufacturing materials have been used. This year's drop also features Grind soles, sitting underneath taupe grey uppers, also featuring hits of orange throughout. Subtle branding is seen throughout, namely on the lateral sides, as well as the Swoosh marked on the heel velcro straps.

There's currently no release date set for these split-toe joints, however they will be dropping soon following the release of these official images. They'll be priced at $100.

The model actually celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2021 (having launched in 1996) and we took a deep-dive! Find out everything about its backstory, including the history of its name, the origins of its split toe design and more here.
