UPDATE: These Penny 1s dropped earlier over at Sneaker Politics.
Penny Hardaway might not have made it to the NBA Hall of Fame (yet), but its undeniable how popular the player was during his magical Orlando stretch during the '90s before the less memorable Knicks period after the Suns that overshadowed Penny's offensive talent. As a kid, there was nothing more exciting than watching that number 1 jersey weaving through the traffic and breaking ankles! Now the Foamposite One would be the first shoe that will come to mind for most people when thinking of signature Pennys, but the one that started it all continues to hold its own in 2014 as part of Nike's new range of retro basketball releases this holiday 2014. This black/royal retro still looks so dope on the court, and that one-cent logo above that Tensile Air and Air Max bubble still makes me all giddy inside. Slated for an October 25th release, this drop might not cause lines around Foot Lockers but the real heads will be fiending. For the newbies, read our article on the history of the Penny 1 to school yourself on the greatness in front of you!
